Utilisation attendue

Vranken-Pommery communique sur son site internet, de façon transparente, sur les usages prévus et sur la façon de consommer son Champagne. La responsabilité du producteur se limite au cadre des usages normaux et attendus des produits. Par ces termes, on entend :

  • les conditions de conservation, de mise en température, d’ouverture de la bouteille ;
  • les conditions de consommation du produit.

Certaines pratiques comme une exposition à des températures élevées (bouteille au soleil ou dans le coffre d’un véhicule en été) ou basses (dans un congélateur), l’ouverture par sabrage d’un vin mousseux, la consommation directement au goulot ne sont pas considérées comme des utilisations normales et attendues du produit.

Les consommateurs

Le Champagne étant une boisson alcoolisée, il est recommandé de le boire avec modération. Il est destiné aux personnes adultes et déconseillé aux femmes enceintes. L’éthanol n’est pas considéré comme un danger car il est inhérent au produit et indiqué sur l’étiquetage.

Certaines personnes peuvent également être sensibles au produit, notamment à cause de la présence des sulfites faisant partie de la liste des allergènes.

Les usages prévus

La responsabilité de VPP se limite au cadre des usages normaux et attendus concernant :

  • Les conditions de conservation.
  • Les conditions de manipulation : Le Champagne est conditionné dans des flacons en verre résistants à une forte pression interne. Cependant, le verre étant un matériau mémoire, les flacons doivent être manipulés avec soin, en évitant toute accumulation excessive de chocs qui entraînerait une fragilisation du verre et donc un risque de casse.
  • Les conditions de mise en température : La bouteille ne doit pas subir de variation de température. Une exposition à des températures élevées (bouteille au soleil, dans le coffre d’un véhicule en été, …) ou basse (conservation au congélateur) n’est pas considéré comme un usage normal. Le Champagne se sert frais mais non glacé, idéalement entre 6 et 8°C.
  • Les conditions d’ouverture de la bouteille :
    • S’assurer que personne n’est dans le champ d’ouverture de la bouteille,
    • Retirer la partie supérieure de la coiffe,
    • Retirer le muselet au dernier moment car il empêche l’expulsion intempestive du bouchon. Détachez-le tout en maintenant le bouchon,
    • Incliner la bouteille et maintenir le bouchon d’une main. Attention : ne pas diriger une bouteille démuselée vers un visage. Faire pivoter la bouteille plutôt que le bouchon,
    • L’ouverture par sabrage n’est pas considérée comme un usage normal.
  • Les conditions de consommation du produit : Il est préférable de consommer le Champagne dans une flûte. La consommation au goulot n’est pas recommandée sauf pour les quarts qui sont également destinés à être bus à la paille (POP).
